I am a hippie at heart. I love bright colors, flowers and decorating. Decorating my home brings me so much happiness. Breathe life, by adding plants to your home for boho feels. Plant hangers and terrariums are very popular right now and can be found in any home goods store. Real or fake, plants are sure to give off zen vibes. I’ve also regrown or “propagated” my own succulents. Check out this fountain that I filled with succulents.
Ambiance is everything when setting the mood, using fairy lights and candles. DIY photo wall with string lights can be made with clothespins, which you can find at any dollar store. You could even make one to hang up Christmas cards you have received from friends or family around the holidays. I am obsessed with candles. If you lose me in a store, chances are you can find me in the candle isle smelling every candle on the shelves. I am also a collector of crystals and seashells, they look gorgeous on a mirrored tray with tea lights.
Tapestries can be put on your bedroom wall or hung from the ceiling. I love the gypsy vibes. You can even make curtains with a mandala tapestry or your favorite fabric just by using clip hooks to hang onto a curtain rod. That is my next project. Moroccan hanging lanterns, floor cushions, multicolor moroccan and tribal rugs are totally necessary when trying to acheive a boho look and can be used outdoors too.
I just bought a floral hand carved wooden medallion wall plaque to hang over my bed to look like a headboard. I am very inspired by the 70’s, macramè was extremely popular back then, and its back by popular demand. Wall hangers, curtain, pot hangers. I even have a pair of macramè earrings that I bought at a market downtown. Dream catchers and colorful pillows with pom poms and tassels are an absolute must. I hope some of these pictures inspire you to decorate and make your house more homie.
Peace & Love, Tara
